Description:

You use them every day, but how much do you know about doors and frames?  This course is a fun way to learn about the construction of doors and frames, materials used to meet specific opening needs, and what to think about when specifying so you will meet code requirements and have an opening the operates smoothly and properly. 


Learning Objectives:

  • List common hollow metal door core types and their strength and weaknesses and specify the correct type core for the opening.
  • Describe 2 major steel frame types and specify the appropriate type frame and anchoring for the application.
  • Describe door edge types, and specify the proper level and model of door for the opening.
  • Discuss the ratings and main function of fire door.
