SAF: House Tour With Architect Dan Duckham

  • 09 Dec 2017
  • 3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
  • 1420 Julie Lagoon, Lutz, Florida 33549

Meet architect Dan Duckham in person! Mr. Duckham is looking forward to being part of this special house tour and talk.

This one-of-a-kind midcentury waterfront property was designed in 1971 by architect Dan Duckham, well known for his creative Organic Architecture. The Palmer House, according to the architect, followed the development of circular forms into a kind of free-form vocabulary. Everything is circular here, and flows beautifully in this 1,499-square foot residence. The bedrooms and office/study have built-in beds, desks and storage areas, with sliding glass doors that open to landscaped courtyards, gardens and decks, finally converging at a striking triangular pool overlooking Julie Lagoon, a freshwater canal off of beautiful Lake Hanna. Among the striking features are the round window in the living room, the built-in fireplace, curvilinear custom seating areas and spectacular open, volume ceilings and skylights. This courtyard-style home is nestled in Lutz, Florida, just north of Tampa.
