    Established and well-respected Sarasota-based architectural firm is seeking a Design Architect. The Design Architect will be artistic and creative, possessing an architect degree or currently working on an architectural degree from an accredited college or university. The designer will have strong conceptual design skills capable of exploring innovative approaches in an interdisciplinary environment. He/she will be able to make a significant contribution to the development of a productive, collaborative idea-based design studio culture. 


    Under the direction of the Design Leader, the Design Architect, will develop high quality design work and process. He/she will interact confidently and professionally with clients to develop and create their ideas, working collaboratively with the design team and firm architects to realize the client’s vision. Proficiency with REVIT, Adobe Suite, Sketchup required. Advanced visualization software such 3DS Max, Rhino, Grasshopper is desirable.


    Essential Functions:

    • ·         Develop high quality design work and process and experience progress with varying amounts of direction from Design Leader.
    • ·         Discuss, develop and communicate ideas with verbal and graphic clarity.
    • ·         Demonstrate of previous design process experience which includes wide range of tools used to communicate and explore ideas including: drawing/sketching, model building, diagramming, 3-D work.
    • ·         Develop and articulate design narrative in written form.
    • ·         Work in a collaborative, team-based studio setting.
    • ·         Develop construction documents using proven technical experience from a conceptual, schematic, and design development framework for building systems, cores, site plan, etc.
    • ·         Understand and correctly apply local and regional building codes, working knowledge of UBC and International Building Code.
    • ·         Active involvement in the design community, academic interface, intellectual discourse surrounding design and architecture.
