Leadership Training Grant Encouraging members to enhance their leadership ability, AIA Florida Gulf Coast has scholarship funds available to chapter members for leadership programs held within the chapter territory or offered through AIA Florida. The purpose of this grant is to support members seeking to increase their leadership expertise and create a larger network of leadership opportunities for chapter members in our community. Building a stronger and larger network of AIA member leaders means that we are better prepared to become involved in political issues affecting community planning and development, and/or serve as spokespeople for issues relevant to the built environment and quality of life in communities. Importantly, AIA members trained as leaders can bring meaningful insight to identify and support developing opportunities for more AIA members to participate in community-based leadership programs. $1,200 is available through the grant for tuition reimbursements for eligible leadership training programs. Grant applicants must be accepted into a training program during the current year. The eligibility of the leadership program is at the discretion of the AIA Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Board who will select the grant recipients. The number and monetary value of the grant(s) awarded is at the discretion of the AIA Florida Gulf Coast Chapter Board. All decisions are final. The application deadline is August 31 of the current year. The grant is considered taxable income to the recipient and the AIA Florida Gulf Coast Chapter will provide an IRS form 1099 at the end of the year for the amount of the grant.
