CFAS Presents
Venice Biennale Exhibition:
Human Tales on Refrigerator Doors
March 23, 2017 - April 28, 2017
Featuring the work of Sweet Sparkman Architects and CityLab Sarasota UF, the Center for Architecture Sarasota presents the regionally emblematic 2016 Venice Biennale exhibition: Human Tales on Refrigerator Doors, by international award-winning Sarasota architectural firm, Sweet Sparkman Architects, in collaboration with master students at CityLab Sarasota UF and Program Director Martin Gold, AIA, NCARB.
Human Tales reveals the stories of the people who have been impacted and inspired by the unique beauty and vulnerability of the state of Florida. Using a ubiquitous American icon—the refrigerator door—the artists created totems of personal and familial narratives, arranged in a three-dimensional exhibition structure, to create an intimate landscape of images and mementos that communicate both the diversity and precariousness of the region. The exhibition premiered at the biennial exhibition of architecture in Venice, Italy in 2016.
It will be on display at CFAS from March 23 - April 28, 2017
